Where Does Darrell Hazell Rank Among FBS Coaches?

CBS Sports ranked the top coaches in Power 5 conferences and Purdue’s Darrell Hazell didn’t fare too well.

Here’s the excerpt from the article:

63. Darrell Hazell, Purdue (64): If not for the impending retirement of Purdue’s athletic director and the fact there were so many coaching vacancies last season, Hazell probably still wouldn’t be around to be ranked.

He was ranked 63rd out of 65 coaches with only David Beaty of Kansas and Chris Ash of Rutgers.

Darrell Hazell signed a six-year deal after the 2012 season and has three years remaining which does not expire until Dec. 31, 2018, and he is guaranteed the full sum, minus bonuses.

The Boilermakers have seen two former quarterbacks transfer to SEC schools during Hazell’s tenure leaving you to wonder what exactly is going wrong with the coaching staff at Purdue.

Purdue is 2-22 in B1G play and 6-30 overall with Hazell at the helm.

Let’s see what the Boilermakers do in 2016. More of the same should equal a ticket out of West Lafayette prior to 2017.
